GUIDE

Planning a translation-device pilot

Decide what the device needs to demonstrate before you test it.

Choose a specific task: translating directions at reception, answering a question about hotel services, or dictating a handover note. Write down what a successful result looks like and who will check it. For translation, include the terms and language pairs your staff actually use.

Test where staff will use the devices, including noisy areas and places with weak network coverage. Ask staff to read the screen, use the microphone, and complete the task. Have a named reviewer check translations, dictated notes, and Concierge answers.

Include the sample hardware, software, server access, and support needed for the test in your quote request. The quote should state the costs and any credit toward a later order. Allow enough time to test the shifts and conditions the devices will encounter.

Review the results against your agreed measures before deciding on rollout. Record the device quantity, rollout schedule, support responsibilities, and update process. If the results fall short, identify what needs to change before committing to more devices.
